MEET THE ARTIST

Diane Carlson’s paintings celebrate a radiant world of flowers and people at home in nature. Fittingly, her studio in Fair Oaks, California, opens to harmonious gardens lovingly developed over the past two decades, gardens which inspire her work. Here her paintings, like her roses, grow from the inside out. For Diane, gardens are sacred places where nature’s textures and forms instruct. Diane’s work has been shown at galleries and sites in California, including Generations in Yountville in the Napa Valley in California & at the Radisson Hotel and Nordstrom’s in Sacramento, California. Her art training includes course work from the University of California at Berkeley and at the University of California at Davis, California, California State University at Sacramento, and the San Francisco Art Institute. Through her U.C. Berkeley bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in English from California State University at Sacramento, she also has experienced work of the heart as a college English instructor. She illustrated The Athena Treasury:101: Inspiring Quotations for Women, a collection of women’s quotations. Two limited edition, self-published volumes of her nature poetry with her own illustrations bear her name. She did the cover artwork and interior stamp-like images for the text A Golden Love: Relationships of Divine Enchantment.
